Samsund BP-1500 audio drops/beeps

Jan 5, 2009 11:09PM PST

Hi, I have my BP-1500 goign HDMI to my Samsung HDTV. from there sound goes to my AVR Receiver via Optical cable.

THe problem I have is while playing BR-disc or even DVD's the sound sometimes beeps or stops. I have tried raplacing the HDMI cable ,but problem still exitst.

Note I also tried a different HDMI port on the TV, same issue.
Note I have a PVR and XBOX 360 on the same setup and i have no issue, all point to the BP-1500.

I have also updated to the latest Firware. My AVR supports 5.1 DTS what audio option should I choose on the BD-1500.

Delay...
Jan 13, 2009 1:23PM PST

Sorry for the delay. I've been in meetings all last week and attending the iCES Show. I sincerely apologize for the delay.

When you say the sound beeps and stops, is it a soft beep? Loud beep? I haven't heard of this issue yet.

And when the sound stops... does it drop out and come back? Or does it drop out until the unit is restarted?

thank for the reply

Hi, thanks for replying.

I have only noticed the beep on blue-ray movie (ex: HANCOCK). The beep sound is almost a lound as the movie. but i would say it is soft sound.

Sound stops on some regular dvd movies and never comes back until i reset the device. Sometimes the sound never even plays, for example when watching TV series on dvd, when changing disc i then have no more sound I have to reset the unit a few times.

I also now noticed on dvd the sound in the begining is distorted and cracks for 2,3 seconds sometimes but then plays fine , sometimes after the crackling I lose sound.

Update...
Jan 14, 2009 1:52PM PST

I appreciate your patience.

Which update version did you use, and when was the last one done? This would be super information to know.

I'll ask our BDP specialist about the beeps in Hancock. Do they occur when you're pressing remote buttons, or just randomly?

Sound issues... I'll check on that.

And the sound crackling+loss/normal issue is with all DVDs? Any Blu-Ray?

And finally, before the update, did you experience these issues? If so, which ones?

I did the software upgrade to see if that would fix my issue. it did not

I have s/w: 081126.01_091108B0_XAA

THE BDP connect to my samsungs (LN40a530P1F) hdmi port

The beep in hancock is random.
the cracklin sound seem to happen on DVD's. Dallas Tv Series for sure. and other regular dvd's.

Sound does not play on DVD until unit gets reset.
