mrnblitz,
You can try asking to have your case escalated to our ECR Department for consideration. I can't over-ride our warranty policy, but they may be able to assist. They can be reached through 800-SAMSUNG and ask for that department.

Right at the beginning of my movie the DVD player asked if I wanted to upgrade my Firmware, I said yes and began watching the movie. The movie became choppy and I assumed it was because of the upgrade. I decided to leave the room and come back later. Upon my return I turned on the blu-ray player and right after the initial screen the machine froze. It states Loading on it's digital screen, but it will not let me open the dvd player nor does it ever finish loading.
I opened up the DVD player removed the DVD and tried again, still nothing happenned.
I called Samsung 1-800 #, they told me to unplug the player, hold the power button for 15 seconds, plug it in and hit the open button immediately...nothing happenned.
I unplugged the machine for 1 hour, plugged it back in, turned it on and nothing happenned.
The player is less than 1 year old, but older than 3 months, Samsung says I can return it to them, but I will be charged labor.
My wife thinks I broke the DVD and she is not happy...can anybody help?
