Same XP Automatic Updating each time I boot

Aug 16, 2007 7:51AM PDT

I am currently runnin XP on my PC. Recently every I boot my PC I get the icon in my system tray that there are automatic updates available.

Each time I run this, it is the same one ie
Installing Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 (KB928366).

I recently ran an application to stop some of the services at startup, has this caused the problem?

I don't like auto updates. . .

You often get updates you don't need. Turn it off and once a month visit the update site and pick and choose updates that pertain to your needs. Very few people need the dot Net anything.

Ditto,just disable auto updates.

Yes how do you? There is no code or chain option to do what you did in your last post "MBSA". I have a code, but need the option, could you explain please.

Thanks,

with kind regards,

"There is no code or chain option to do what you did in your last post "MBSA". I have a code, but need the option'

I don't understand the question.

Well How can I put the question then?

When answering a post and giving a website, instead of giving it fully like I did in my last but one post, how on this site, namely C/Net do I post as you did with capitals "MBSA" for thread readers to click on to bring up the website. I can do it on all other forums but this one as there are no options offered. To quote you:

"Check out windows update site,and/or use MBSA".

Hope this is clear this time.

No understanding you at all.

Thanks for your reply, but no I do not mean that at all. Look on any other forum and you get can option to send a website without actually posting the entire sometimes long URL. Just leave it, does not matter. What is the option given here near "reply" called "permalink" for while I have your attention?

Have no other problems on any other forum I can think of to do what I am wanting other than this forum.
