Same 'old' problem!! :(

by glenn30 / March 16, 2004 10:50 PM PST

Sitting and waiting for CNET pages to load is becoming mighty old. Just now after the "Viruses and Security Alerts" heading was loaded it took 1 minute and 40 seconds for the page to finish.

I don't know but it appears the Engineers are stumped. I for one will not continue to stare at blank pages. There are better things to do!

what happens if you hit the "stop" button?? I hit the 'stop" button as I have the top of the page - most of the time I then get the entire page - give it a try. Yep, is a "royal PITA" to wait sooo long. But the "stop" button does NOT work as you are posting Sad

Yep, noticed that little "stop" trick before, even in the old forum format, to speed up the page...only thing you have to watch is that the listing titles of replys is usually not shown, so you have to go back and try again to click on the replys.

Another little ditty, that sometimes works ok is when it starts to take a while, close out your browser (IE6) restart it and click on post again which will sometimes come up pretty fast.
