We have a digital recorder that occasionally needs to be plugged in to my 'puter to upload its files. Of course, the guy holding the recorder doesn't know how to connect it. Of course, I was shown ONCE how to connect and get the thing to show up in Windows Explorer.
Don't know if this works for you...the recorder has an 'I/O' button on it. First, plug the USB line in to both the recorder and the computer. With the recorder off, you push the button. Then you power up the recorder. Windows Explorer will then show the removable drive.
Hope you figger out how yours works...I have enough trouble remembering how this one does!
When plugging in any removable hardware through a USB port, such as an MP3 Player, Compact Flash reader, etc., it is not being recognized by the system.
It is not shown in My Computer window, nor does the safely remove hardware icon show up in the Taskbar.
OS, Windows ME, HP Computer.
