Update to my earlier question.I have Windows 98 on a Gateway desktop. For the past month I have been getting invalid page fault messages mostly when I was using my email (JUNO) and word at the same time. But it was something I could live with. had taken it in to a MS certified repair service recently and had a "clean bill of health."
After returning from vacation, my computer seemed to operate fine at 1st startup. The next day Windows
wouldn't startup correctly, and requested that I go to safe mode to diagnose problem. As a non-techie I can't really find anything "wrong." I scanned for viruses, checked the properties of my drivers and looked in control panel. All seems fine. But since that point I have attempted normal startup 4 - 5 times and it will not go to normal mode. I select normal, but it goes to safe. Is there a "lock" or "disable" feature that I am not aware of, that causes the system to remain in safe mode even when I select normal? Or could it be a virus?
