If it did work when you started using it, I'm afraid you'll have to return it to the owner in this non-functioning state so he can repair it or have it repaired.
It might be he says it's your fault and you have to pay for repairing it, if he can't do it himself. But I'll leave it to you to handle that situation.

I went to safe mode via msconfig. and when the password window popped up I entered the admin password. The computer reboots everytime I entere the password.
For example: as soon as the "Ok" button is clicked the computer shows that my "settings" are being prepared and then a message comes up saying "windows is shutting down".
I've tried every option unded F8, and it leads me to the "Safe Mode" loop.
I'm typing this from a work computer, and the computer I have is borrowed; there are no repair disks available.
Any suggestions?
