Safe Downloader Software

Aug 26, 2011 10:59AM PDT

There are various web sites offering FREE SOFTWARES to Download. Since I being layman,I will appreciate ,if someone can clear my following questions.
1. Are these softwares safe and free from Viruses?
2 .How to check whether these are free from the viruses?
3.How to download virus free? I have installed 'Norton 360' anti virus.
4.When I try to Save this software on my comp.it asks ,Type of File,' to Sae the document as "All File" or "Application". What should I mention? How to add 'Exe."
5.I want to download Videos and music from 'You Tube' and other similar web sites. Which 'Downloader,' software and from which web site I should download the software considering it should be A.Latest Version.
B.Able to Download HD programme.
C. Fast and without interruptions.

Thanks.

Downloading safely...

1.) Depends on which websites you're specifically referring to.
2.) Read user reviews and scan them with security software upon download.
3.) Download from trusted websites that are themselves well-reviewed.
4.) Either one is fine - "Application" refers to EXE on a Windows computer.
5.) YouTube TOS prohibit downloading videos unless the option is provided by the copyright holder.

Hope this helps,
John
