Question

Safari suddenly quits.

Dec 27, 2011 1:59AM PST

Lately, Safari just quits on me. It's happened on several different sites, but mainly on those with colorful front pages. Does this have something to do with flash? I've tried restarting my computer. Nothing helps. I've reported it 4-5 times now. I'm not a computer geek..so please be as simplistic as possible with your help. I tried going to Apple help, but couldn't finish filling in my Apple ID page because I don't know how to type BOLD letters. Help there would also be appreciated! Thanks.

When filling in your Apple ID page, there is NO need to type BOLD letters.

Regular type will do quite nicely

Hello. In order to complete the apple ID page, I was asked to type the letters or numbers that appeared before me. Some were bold, others not. I just typed in what I saw, but it was not accepted. I couldn't think of why this happened other than "not bold"

the letters you type in are CASE sensitive. Bold is not an option.

I don't use any other browsers. Safari 4.1.3 is the one I'm using. I'm sorry, but I don't know what you mean by add ons. ( I'm computer illiterate!!) BTW I have the Tiger edition of Mac OS X. I don't know if this is related or not, but my email system was not functioning and after much phone discussion with both comcast and apple, new passwords were entered in my keychain and mail works fine now. However, Safari quits much more often, but not on all sites. I don't understand why some sites are fine and others not. The NY Times is unreachable. Less colorful front pages seem to not be as problematic, like this site and google. Your help is appreciated!
