Safari Issue

Dec 17, 2008 9:30PM PST

MacBook, Mac OS 10.4.11 Safari 3.2.1
Often certain web pages launch with text superimposed on other text or icons. I have checked preferences to see if I can make adjustments to address the issue but nothing has worked. It is annoying because sometimes I cannot access links that are appearing below the superimposed text. Any ideas? Thanks.

Name that site.

It's possible that the site has been coded for one particular browser, probably IE, by someone who does not know any better.
Using non-standard code results in different displays in different browsers.

Can you give an example?

Safari issue
Dec 18, 2008 11:02PM PST

One of the sites I am having issues with is AMEX bonus points mall. https://www.bonuspointsmall.com/index.htm

Actually I am ordering a new Mac and AMEX is offering 3x points for purchases at the Apple Store through their shopping portal. Since I am going to spend a couple thousand dollars, I wanted to take advantage of the points for future flights. The links to the individual stores don't work for me. I get a message that I am moving from the Bonus points mall to the retailer and it takes me nowhere.

Amex

I see the first page loads correctly but I cannot move on from there to test it out as you forgot to include your username, password, Amex number, social security number and your DOB. Happy

Have you tried calling Amex about this?

Problem rectified

I downloaded Firefox and used that to access the website. It worked great. Yes, I did contact AMEX. No help really but they gave me 2500 points for my trouble. Happy

Glad you got it fixed.
I guess the problem only showed itself after you had logged in.
