Safari features available

Pete, I recently found at the top of the Safari menu under Edit, and the last one down, Special Characters.
I went view the options and was impressed. I also viewed a new icon at the top, next to the sound, a new American Flag with Show Character Palette and Open International.
I played around with this for over an hour viewing all the International options. Really wild.

I had placed some special characters in another forum yesterday to my post.
There is even braille characters available. Not sure how that will help someone.
My question is how do we use this feature in Safari overall?
