Safari 5 for windows

Jun 8, 2010 1:46AM PDT

Hi all,

I have downloaded safari 5 for windows, what I cannot work out is when I click on the gears symbol on the right hand side of the browser it says "Localized string not found" in the drop down menu. it does not give a name for say the options menu it is just guess work to find that menu. It does give a name for hiding the tabs bar for example but for nealy everything else it says "Localized string not found". Hoe can I remove this and have the proper names for the various menus. I have cleared the cashe and reset safari 5 but that did not improve the situation.

thanks

it sounds as if Safari didn't install properly.

I would uninstall it, reboot Windows to clear any registry entries, then download Safari 5 again and install again.

Where did you download Safari 5 from initially?

one last thing

Hi,

I did what you said and Safari 5 is working ok now, thanks for your advice, perhaps like you say it did not install properly, I uninstalled and then reinstalled it and it works fine now. I downloaded safari 5 from the apple website today, also just one quick thing, is there any way of disabling the multi window tabs on windows that come up when you click the icon on the left hand side of the browser? I only use the normal tabs and not the multi screen ones.

thanks

I don't use Safari so I don't know.

Well done in getting this sorted though. Such things happen sometimes.

There may be an option you can de-select in Safari's own Tools > Options, or whatever it uses.

Good luck.
