No way did I think that. I meant his temptation was running from the accident. Sorry If I didn't make that clear.

or do you think that because he's a "man of God" he should have been given a pass, Glenda? I just wish Cardinal Law were on trial!

Dave did you read what he was found guilty of? He was on trial for a hit & run , Not the sex scandal in the Church, And No I don't think any of the Priests should be given a pass! What I was referring to as a sad day is the affect on all of the Catholics in Phoenix! It is a very sad day when a Man of God makes such an error in judgementSad

Hi, Glenda.

I did indeed know what he was convictd of. My point here is that until fairly recently, Catholic priests (in Europe) weren't subject to trial in "civil" courts, but rather in Church courts, which rarely gave them any harsh punishments. Some of the statements by the Pope and Hierarchy (about the sex abuse scandal) smack very much of wishing that were still the situation.

Dave I agree, the sex scandal in the Church should have been treated as criminal a long time ago! It just shows that not all men of the cloth, no matter what denomination, Are Christians! My youngest daughter is Catholic and has 3 boy's I truly am worried for themSad
I asked Sheila to be careful who she trusts her children withSad A very sad commentary on the times that when we send our children to school and Church functions, that we have to be careful of the people in places that should be safe!
