...Time Warner has been lying to pretty much everyone calling them about this issue. They do not, at this time, support HDMI> Thus, if you hook up your TV to this box with HDMI you will have a lovely picture and no sound. Great if you like watching subtitles, but not much else.
If you call TW about this, expect to get a lot of doubletalk. They keep making it up as they go along. they have told people about phantom non-existant replacement boxes for the venerable 8300 (8320, 8350, etc.). None of these boxes exist, however. Then you may get the line, "we're working on it" with vague and non existant time lines as to when this will be resolved. In the meantime, just hook your TV up with component cables, they're just as good anyway.
ok guys this is my weekend....I hope!!!
I just took delivery of a 50" Panny plasma and I want to make sure I'm connecting it correctly. I have the SA-8300HD. What is the best connection from it to the TV, HDMI? Would connecting it this way affect the SD picture? Any other things I should look for or do? I'm gonna read the manual, I just want some real life recommendations.
Thanks in advance!
