What does the manual say about spdif_I/O connectors? But now I am really confused when you threw in the desktop to the Hi-Fi system...or are you saying the desktop have the GA-EP45T mobo. If that's the case, then I think the audio connection should be either optical/coaxial (near the PS2), depends on what connection your hi-fi have.
Hi Everybody,
I am currently trying have my HDMI cable carry the sound along with the video from my desktop to the Hi/Fi.
I own :
GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-USB3P ATX Intel Motherboard
Nvidia Gefroce GTX 260 graphic card
The idea is that want to use the full 5.1 sound system provided with my hi/fi system. So I plugged a very short/skinny wire from the "SPDIF_O" on the motherboard to my graphic card.
To be honest i am confused because there is a "SPDIF_I" and "SPDIF_O" on the motherboard, I assume one is IN and the other is OUT problem is where ever i look the plugs all look the same some have 4 pins others 3 others 2. Not only that but once i figured out which connector to use i need to figure out which of the pins is ground and which is the audio pin.
I spent the week end looking for answers both on internet and in hardware stores almost as if i was the only one using it... EVER.
Please help. these HDMI cables cost me a lot i would hate for them to be useless.
Thank you.
