Hello! I have a problem with my computer. Windows does not starts.
After switching on and checking hardware it is automatically restarting before Windows starts. Also I can not enter to Safe Mode. Problem is same.
Yesterday I had a problem with display and changed something in Control Panel/Display.
Please help me.
Thank you.

Last Known Good Boot isn't either we have to use our Windows 2000 SP1 CD and perform a Repair Install. I don't duplicate how to do this in this small space but type with (with quotes) into google.com

"Windows 2000" REPAIR INSTALL

I never lost much doing this except those windows updates.

No CD = No Problem.

Microsoft still ships Windows 2000 SP1 CDs to registered owners.

Here's the link on how to order. About 35 bucks last time I had to do this.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246 notes the hours and the 800 number.

After Repair Install can I restore my old files?

My old and new files restore just fine from my backup system.

Hey Bob

I have a new problem. What is it? I did not install new hardware or software.

STOP:c000026c Unknown Hard Error
Unknown Hard Error
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again.
follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed,
If this is a new installation,
ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows 2000 updates you might need.

If problems continue,
disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software,
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options,
and then select Safe Mode.

If as you have written in your last reply then you are no longer having the error since Windows is not starting (can't have the error since Windows is not starting) then you should look up XP REPAIR INSTALL on google.com

If your words were incorrect then correct them. Also said repair depends on the OS CD you own. My answer is based on you having the Retail CD and not a restore CD. You must take care in making a good post so I don't hand you bad advice.

This is the Windows 2000/NT forum which means you need to go to the XP Forum if what you wrote is true.
