RV082 and Bell Canada internet. MTU issue?

When I connect direclt to my modem with a laptop, my internet is excellent. When I connect to my router RV082, its another story.

In the router, the MTU was set to default. I would only get 1.52 download and 0.2 upload.

I tried MTU 1500, the download jumped to 4.85 and 0.54 upload. Which is excellent. But, I cannot go on hotmail.com, yahoo.com, etc, and emails wouldnt come in.

I tried MTU 1482, 1.71 download and 0.32 upload, and I was able to go on hotmail.com again.

Does anyone know the specific MTU for Bell Business line? This is driving our company insane

This is why folk turn to DrTCP.

It's been used for years to tweak it up. However I don't dive into discussions about how the internet works much.

Try DrTCP. It's over at http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp along with other tools for tweaking and testing.
