Russian Malware or real software update for Chrome?

I keep getting this or similar from "google chrome" or a close facsimile perhaps? Don't click on it but the link below which always has an "org" address has been popping up on my system. How do I get rid of it?

Your computer is infected with typical browser hijacker. You should reset your browser to its default settings and clean browser shortcuts
