Yeah, like I'm going to accept anything the Drudge Report

has to say on anything without corroboration from about 10 less biased sources, possibly not even then. The Drudge Report is a joke, along with TownHall.com and FoxNews. They decide what the news is before the day begins, and write the stories accordingly. Check out the e-mails that have circulated from FoxNews if you don't believe me.

Rush Limbaugh, or der Dicke as I think of him, (now hold on, hold on, that doesn't mean what you think. Der Dicke was what the Germans called Hermann Goering, it means Fatty or Pudgy, you know "the Thick one") bears a more than a passing resemblance to Grosse Hermann when you examine it. Both supportive of a non-democratic ultra conservative government, both enormously greedy and overweight at one point in their lives, and both addicted to pain killers. Of course Goering was actually injured in a flying accident (a crash) at the end of WW1, so he at least had some species of excuse for his behavior. I haven't heard any reason or cause for Limbaugh's addiction except that he could get away with it. You want pathetic, check your own back yard, poor little Rushie's out there trying to turn Poppies into Opium.

Whether you believe it or not, his doctor prescribed pain meds after Rush had spinal surgery and was in excruciating pain. Not that you give a crap.

Gee so compassionate
May 1, 2006 8:11PM PDT

Not even the ugliest liberal is claiming that Rush didn't have a legitimate reason for taking the pain killers to begin with. Spinal problems can be mighty painful, and a reason for PROPERLY prescribed medicines. Unlike your abuse of same as a sleep aid.

The rest of the post is just disgraceful.

If it was me I would have, just for the principle - mind you, took it all the way dragging it out until this hacks retirement party no matter the cost. Rush is a better businessman than I and he wanted to keep his money.

I think many lawyers know which judges use PTI

You have the wrong pretrial scenario
May 1, 2006 8:32PM PDT

His was pretrial diversion run by the State's Attorneys Office. Roy Black is a good defense attorney. If Rush weren't who he was, this would not have been pursued and he wouldn't have needed an attorney. Once he did, only an idiot would hire the least experienced incompetant he could find. Lucky for him Rush is not an idiot.

The point is ...
May 1, 2006 8:56PM PDT

... that attorney is clearly trying to drum up business by stressing how important it is to have the "right attorney" to get the best deal. Our system tends to work that way -- better advocates generally get better outcomes for their clients. BUT, I suspect that if someone in Rush's position (w/o his celebrity) -- forgetting for a moment that then he wouldn't be in that position -- found a second rate lawyer who tried to do a PTI before a judge that doesn't do them, the judge would probably direct the attorney to the court clerk's office for a list of judges that do, or directly to a judge that they are familiar with handling those cases.

Judge shopping? Puh leeze.

It blows Rob's crap right out of the water. Not that most intellectually honest people didn't see that from the get go, but some are slower to accept reality when their political bias gets in the way.

The User

Fortunately, being arrested for drug possession does not necessarily mean you will be labeled a criminal. Much of society views drug possession with compassionate eyes and as a result the Florida Legislature has established several programs to help Floridians overcome any substance abuse problems they may have. Today when a person gets arrested for a drug offense there are more ways to resolve the case than in the past.

Important to remember, Rush was not arrested or charged until the agreement was met.

Pretrial Diversion
Pretrial Diversion is a diversionary program run by the State Attorney's Office and is usually reserved for first time, nonviolent offenders. The diversion program is similar to probation, in that once you are accepted into the program you must report once a month to a supervising officer, undergo random drug testing, complete community service hours, and refrain from being involved in any criminal activity. Additionally, Pretrial Diversion requires the permission of the victim of the crime you are accused of committing. Your charges will be dropped upon successful completion of Pretrial Diversion.

THIS is what Rush had, and it shouldn't have even gone to this. Note -- usually reserved for first time, nonviolent offenders. That would be Rush even if guilty of every ridiculous charge hurled at him.

It is important to remember that he did NOT plea bargain -- that involves entering a plea of guilty to some charge.

If you are trying to imply that by hiring a good attorney Rush did something sinister, think again. He's a man with an awful lot to lose, and the 30,000 is a drop in the bucket compared to the MILLIONS he has spent defending himself from this witchhunt.
