I've got my TV hooked up to my PC and sometimes download movies to watch on the TV. I have an Nvidia GE force 7950 GT graphics card with a DVI to HDMI cable running straight to my TV. Changing from one monitor to two is as easy as going into the Nvidia menu and selecting the configuration I want (monitor 1 only, clone, or two monitors receiving two signals). It's not that hard. I also have to click on my Turtle Beach Montego sound card icon and change my sound from the PC speakers over to my surround sound when I want to watch a downloaded movie (several more clicks of the mouse). For that card, I'm using an optical cable running to my receiver.
I'm hoping that someone here can help me with my problem.
I am currently using a PC with Windows XP SP2 and an LCD monitor in the standard single monitor config. I want to buy a second monitor and a TV tuner card and mount this away from the PC. Will I be able to select the PC to display TV on 1 monitor, and the desktop on the other? If so is it an easy selection to make? I've used twin monitors before for the desktop only but never really played around with it. Can you even run both D-SUB and DVI outputs from the graphics card at the same time? Hope it's OK to post this here, as it's kind of a crossover question. I may post it in the PC forums too I think...
Thanks in advance for any advice.
