Question

Running multiple OSs on one laptop

May 27, 2014 6:39AM PDT

As a prospective uni student next year, I am looking into buying a new laptop. Though cost rules out a macbook, I will be studying Tech Theatre, and so may need to be able to run mac programs (such as QLab), whilst also wanting to be able to run Windows 8 (or 9 if its out by then).

So in summary; can I install both OSs on one laptop, will a 1TB hard drive to run both without any problems, and is possible to reach my files (docs, vids, images, music) on both OSs?

Although a dual boot between Windows 8 and Linux is possible (in principle) Apple only licenses Mac OS on it's own Macs and nowhere else. So a dual boot between Windows and Mac OS on non-Apple devices can't be discussed.

The other way around (running Windows on a Mac via bootcamp) is well-known and legal.
