Question

RunDLL Error question

Jan 7, 2015 6:23AM PST

Hello - I have been trying to get to the bottom of a persistant runDLL error for some time now, but have no experience with manipulating the registry manually. I would feel much more comfortable doing so with some point by point advice.

This is the error:

RunDLL

There was a problem starting C:/Program File(x86)/Common Files/PareToLogic/UUS2/UUS.dll

I had previously installed PareToLogic program to help recoved something I accidentally deleted from the recycling bin. I deleted the program when I saw it attached to this issue, but of course that did not stop the issue or stop the computer from trying to locate and start it.

I am running windows 7 32. multiple other malware etc scanners are coming up with nothing

My computer is constantly running in the background trying to complete this task and the error pops up every few hours. Any Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Remove ParetoLogic
Jan 8, 2015 1:29AM PST

Hi,

May be try to open Scheduled Tasks, click Start, click All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Scheduled Tasks. Search the list of Windows Scheduled Tasks of entries associated with the 'Pareto Update' or 'ParetoLogic Registration'. Delete these entries or have a look at this How to remove ParetoLogic UUS.DLL error message which may help you.

Hope this helps.

Just a note, a warning about that web site.
Jan 11, 2015 5:10PM PST

My Firefox browser add-on WOT, (Web Of Trust), has flagged the web site you linked to with a red warning flag, suggesting it is not to be trusted.

Normally I would either delete your post or have the link edited out, because of the suspect link.

However, WOT's comments are, in my view, inconclusive. Their web page report is here;
https://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/utilitysoftwarereviews.com?utm_source=addon&utm_content=warn-viewsc

There is only one comment that calls the web site SPAM AND MALWARE. The only other comment supports the web site.

In this case, therefore, I do not consider there is enough evidence to remove or edit your post, and in fact it would be interesting to know if the advice offered on that page was useful.

WOT generally is a trusted source of suspect web sites and for that is a useful tool.in our arsenal to defend ourselves against malware of various kinds. But in this case I believe the WOT rating is premature.
