Rumsefeld kept 9/11 plane piece as souvenir

Rumsfeld Kept 9-11 Souvenir.
>> The Justice Department investigation that criticized FBI agents for taking souvenirs from the World Trade Center site also found that Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and a high-ranking FBI official kept items from the Sept. 11 attack scenes.<<

Hi, Ed.

There's never been an occasion when my country has been threatened to the point such action was necessary, Ed, until after 9/11. And I'm a bit long in the tooth to be fighting now.

Long in the tooth? Better get on a fitness program as you are by law...

a member of the militia whether you desire it or not and will remain so until you finish your 65th year on this planet.

A militiaman who fears firearms is normally given a stick and becomes a mine and booby trap detector (thought you might want to know).

I rarely comment in SE and avoid anything political as I have see too many volleys of links to news writers, columnists, etc. and I have way too little respect for any of their offerings regardless of on which side of the political fence they sit. But, I would not be unhappy at all if every person in congress and all other high ranking officials in decision making positions had such reminders on their expensive desks. I would, also, not be unhappy if wannabes carried them in their pockets while on the campaign trails as well.

I absolutely agree.

And while we're at it, perhaps a trip here should be required for all present and prospective Federal elected and appointed officials...

I saw an interview with Rumsfeld where he was asked about that. Let's not forget that HE was in the Pentagon when it was hit and helped pull survivors and "direct traffic" in the aftermath. This is a big "so what" Dave. As Rumsfeld states it is a reminder of the terrible events of that day and is officially logged as a piece of government property, not a personal trinket. When he leaves, it stays.

Couldn't help but notice, Evie...

Evie, I couldn't help but notice that Dave "lit-off" a "charge" that he made 6 weeks ago. Do you think that it may be because all of the big TV networks are currently all over Kerry about his "boomerang medals"? I can't help but wonder if the feeding frenzy of the news agency sharks has started. If it has, the sharks won't be distracted by Dave K. and others throwing a Twinkie into the water, they want blood.
Chilling thought, Dave: Remember that last-minute DUI charge that the Democrats tried to use against Bush just before the election? I have a gut feeling that some people(on Both sides) may be sitting on some things and waiting to spring them.
