Ruler size

Hi there,
I've just finished a piece work for college on MS Word. I had it on print layout view and the ruler went right across the top of the page thus making the paper nearly fill the page except for a 1cm margin. The font size was on 12 but the writing seemed larger than that (maybe about size 20. Any way I goes to do another word document for something else (busy, busy, busy) and it had changed completely. The paper was approx the size of a normal sheet of A4 and the font size 12 looked a lot smaller than it had previously. I was still on print layout view and everything seemed the same as the previous document (I checked page set-up, twiddled with tabs and moved bits and pieces around on the ruler. I also tried the helpful hints all to no avail). I really tried everything I could think of but now I'm asking if any of you ppl can help me.

Thanks in advance, Kiai x

P.S. I know I don't have to put this but I've just went and opened word and it was back to the way it was (the way I wanted it.) Maybe it's something I said, lol. I'm still posting this though to see if I can get any ideas as to why it happened and incase it's changed again, lol.

Thanks again

The on-screen paper does not correspond to the actual paper. For your problems, try various zoom settings - 100%, 75%, 50%....120 %....

Hello Papa Echo,

That's exactly what it was. Even though the problem had been fixed it's nice to know what that problem was.
Thanks very much for your help.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
