Rugged Digital Camera

Nov 23, 2004 9:02AM PST

I am wondering what type of digital camera I can buy that will give me quality pictures but tough enough to take wrecks on dirt bikes and snowmobiles. Anyone have any ideas?

I would think the very small cameras in a padded case would work fine; especially the Minolta Dimage X series which have internal zoom lenses.

I don't know of any digital camera that is built to withstand physical assault or being dropped.

Olympus mades a line of cameras that are dust and water resistant:

Stylus 300 and 410
and the just introduced Stylus Verve

Olympus Stylus 400 and 410 are weatherproof cameras.
They are designed for sportsman and outdoor types.
Both have rugged, solid contruction.
Try take a look at them and see if they suit your need.
