Roxio + Nero---both on same computer OK?

Nov 15, 2005 11:29AM PST

Hope this is the right forum. Someone told me I shouldn't put Roxio's Easy CD Creator (I've got v.6) and Nero (I've got v.6 ultra) on the same computer because there would be some sort of conflict between them (perhaps trying unsucessfully to share same windows files??). Does anybody have any definitive info on this? I've got two computers, one with XP Pro, and one's an old 98SE. I'd like to put both Roxio and Nero on both computers. Anybody know if I can do this without getting errors when I run either program (wouldn't be running them at the same time, of course). Thanks in advance, Taz

associate all media files with a single application. If it matters, I install Roxio first.

Roxio and Nero

Thanks, Kiddpeat. Sounds like good advice. Since I've already got Roxio installed, I'll go ahead and try the Nero, remembering not to let it associate itself with any particular filetype.

Roxio and Nero

Hi Tasuki,

Did everything work out for you? Are you now able to effectively run Nero and Roxio on both computers? I'm in the exact same boat (operating systems and all), and I had uninstalled my Roxio when it initially prevented the Nero software from running properly (had to install it for my Sony DVD Burner).

Now I can't used Direct CD to swap files from one computer to the next (InCD uses a different filing system and is therefore incompatible).

Looking forward to your response!!

Best Regards,

Charles

haven't been brave

Charles,
To be honest, I haven't been brave enough to try to load the Nero (already have the EZCDCreator), but maybe I will try on one computer (I've got 4) to see what happens. Sorry to hear that you're having difficulties. This is exactly the sort of thing I was warned about, and the reason for my hesitation. If anybody has had similar experiences, or knows a fix or even a patch, please post! Thanks, Taz
