I am a home-theater newbie. I live in a dorm and get basic cable piped into through the wall socket (i.e. I don't have a set-top box). Now, I have an Onkyo receiver that I use to hook up my speakers etc. I'd like to set up my system so that the cable (i.e. TV) audio is routed to the speakers through the receiver. However, my receiver doesn't have a jack that looks compatible with the in-wall cable jack. How can I work around this ?
I am looking to upgrade my TV and buy a DVD player. What features should I watch out for so that I can get all audio (from cable, DVD, CDs) routed to the speaker ?
