Question

Routing application sound through audio system

by Cydley99 / December 10, 2011 11:35 AM PST

Hello, we just recently purchased the LG Infinia 65LW6500 65" 3D LED HDTV, along with a Pioneer VSX-1021-K receiver. We are trying to figure out how to route the TV's apps (HULU Plus, Amazon Prime video, etc) through the receiver. We have tried several different configurations, but are unable to get the app audio to play through the receiver and speakers. Has anyone else had any issues with this? Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide!

If HDMI ARC does not work I have to add an audio Optical cable from HDTV to the receiver. This is something I've done too many times.

Answer
Using ARC (Audio Return Channel) function of HDMI protocol
by motorcitymitch / December 26, 2011 12:01 AM PST

Hello,

I just bought an LG 32LV550T TV and a Pioneer BCS-212 home cinema to use for Xbox gaming.

I am also not getting the audio to play through home cinema. I have hooked up the xbox to the TV using QED Profile HDMI cable and hooked the Pioneer home cinema via another QED profile HDMI cable. The HDMI cable goes from HDMI OUT of home cinema to HDMI IN 1 of TV. This may sound backwards but it is what both manuals say to do. With the TV the HDMI IN1 is the ARC enabled channel.

What I have found out so far is:
1) You must have ARC enabled on LG TV (did that through TV setup menu)
2) The HDMI cable must be HDMI 1.4 compliant - which the Profile appears to be.

Unfortunately the blinking thing still doesn't work. I know I could buy a digital audio cable but why spend another £25 if you dont need to?

I am still chasing support. But would gladly accept any useful suggestions.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
