Question

Routers

Mar 19, 2015 10:08AM PDT

I am thinking about updating my router. There are so many different brands out there plus the ones you can get from the cable/internet providers. How do you know which is the right one for you?

I currently have Verizon fios for my internet provider. I purchased a router from them probably 2 years ago. I just upgrade my internet speed to 50/50 with their new Quantum package. Any suggestions on what to go with for the router would be very helpful.

Thanks

SSD drives
Mar 19, 2015 11:22AM PDT

Yeah I was looking at an SSD drive but is out of my budget right now. Plus I have a terrabite on my laptop and 1 terrabite external harddrive as well. What will SSD get me that a regular external portable hard drive wont?

An example.

Look at the Asus x200ca. That's no speedster but my wife uses that on travel. With a 99 buck 240GB SSD (plenty for OS and apps) it boots to the desktop in under 15 seconds. Resume from hibernation in under 5 seconds and a sleep wakeup is under 3 seconds. It was much longer before that change up.

A lot of folk want speed, that does it nicely.
