Resolved Question

Router to Router to server for isolation?

Jul 16, 2014 1:44AM PDT

My Brother is self employed and works at a hired out office in the middle of an office floor. I have built him a personal server. He is connected to the office router for internet which is shared by other people on the floor. I want to connect the server to him only, Would i need to connect my own router to the office outer and then connect the computer and the server to my router for there to be an isolated private connection to the server or how would i go about this?

Sounds like a lot of work.

But servers for years would rebuff users that had no account on the server. Why not do this the old fashioned way with accounts?
