You would have to not only figure out how to get it to work but then, any router update or change and it's all this work again.
Do not sign up for such advanced cases.
Also, if all 3 DVRs are the same make, you as the network engineer have to see if they support changing the PORT numbers and how to run their apps.
Simply a very advanced setup that should never be seen in a consumer setting. This would be a business where they employ IT staff.
Hi all!
I've installed a CCTV system at my friends shop. It is similar to the one I setup at home, but we have different routers and he has 3 CCTV DVRs.
The only issue I am getting, is trying to access the DVRs remotely.
The settings within the router (BT Business hub5) I have changed are (This is copy /paste):
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Assign or Allow Ports for the DVR below:
1. Inbound & Outbound Port Range 34567-34600 (allows for network video)
2. Inbound & Outbound Port Range 80-80 (allows for network Browser connectivity)
3. Inbound & Outbound Port Range 23-25 (allows for email notifications)
4. Inbound & Outbound Port Range 465-466 (allows for mobile device logon)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To do the above, in the router, I had to assign the local IP of a DVR; 192.168.1.26
I can now view that DVR remotely - perfect!
I would now like to do the same for (the other 2)
192.168.1.27 & 192.168.1.28 DVRs, but the router wont let me assign the above port ranges to another IP address.
I also tried an alternative method of:
Go to the DMZ settings and "allow or set" the DVR's IP Address to full open access.
- Enter the IP address of your DVR into this setting. Example: "192.168.2.88"
The router will only let me assign a max of 1 IP address, so also no good.
I access the CCTV through an app called "IP Pro", which links the app to the DVRs through an individual code on the DVR itself. I can view all 3 DVRs, but after a while, all 3 appear at the 192.168.1.26 one, if I close the app and restart it, its okay for a while.
I'm obviously doing something daft. Can anyone enlighten me?
