General discussion

router or broadband connection

Jul 20, 2016 4:59AM PDT

I have a netgear wireless router and all appears well (all green lights) except none of my devices can connect to the web. All devices (5 phones 2 tablets 3 laptops sky box) can connect to the router no problem but thats as far as it goes. Router has been reset many times. Line has been checked remotely by provider who states all is well so i would be charged for an engineer visit if the fault is on my side. Is it likely to be a router problem?

Please tell the IP-address (or all the output of ipconfig) of one of the laptops, to see if you are connected to the router correctly.

Would they all change?

Not got much it knowledge but will check when i get home. But would the ip address change and effect all devices simultaneously. Its a few years old and never had any problems with any (old and new) devices before

I'd like to hear more about the setup.

For some of these I have a test where I can plug directly into the modem and test if I can get on the internet but here, details are slim.

This means it's not sure where the fault is but a high probability it's the router or router settings.

Did you do more than a reset of the router? Such as factory reset it and set it back up?
