Router for Blu-Ray player?

Hi, first off, just a warning, I am a bit out of my comfort zone! I am trying to connect the internet on my Blu-ray player, which requires connection to a broadband router using a LAN cable. The problem is that my wireless internet was installed by my cable company across the room and there is not another available access point. So basically I want to know if there happens to be some sort of wireless receiver of sorts that could pick up the wireless signal and then transmit it through the LAN cable to the Blu-ray player?

Or any other ideas?
