Does somebody know specifically what type of Antenna Connectors does the ASUS RT-N66U uses ? Does it uses RSMA, RP SMA or other type of connector ?

I wonder.

This model sounds like the one my former neighbor had. He complained about it to me last week and I walked him through the firmware upgrade.

What happened? The problems are gone and he's not shopping extenders now.

Try that!

Since I don't have this particular router, I'm just passing along the information I've found. But remember, since there are adapters that should allow you to connect either type, I'm not sure it matters.

Click on the link below for an ASUS Antenna offering. the first "Question" in "Customer Questions & Answers " which indicates that the antenna works on your RT-N66U and if you read about 9 questions down, under the question: "is this compatible with Zyxel pk5000z? ", you'll see the responder states the antenna will work with any ASUS router which has RP-SMA connectors.

In addition, clicking on the link below allows you to bring up a close up view of the back of the RT-N665U. You'll note the connector type also appears to the the RP SMA, and NOT the SMA.

For the difference between those two, see the link below:

Hope this helps.
