If it works, it's fine. And it seems perfect for your privacy, given what a subnet is used for.
The gateway is in your LAN, not on the WAN, so that's a different network indeed (different from what exactly?). Why do you want to talk to it, and why can't you?
My router WAN side subnet mask is 255.255.255.255 . IS it possible? It is working fine. The gateway is in a different network. How can it talk to the gateway?
