take a can of compressed air, the sort you get from your favorite computer store, and blow out the dust and junk that has no doubt collected in there. Blow in through the vents at the back of the machine. Playing a CD produces heat which causes the fan to run faster. This could be the problem.
Hi - I have a 17" powerbook.. it was making a buzzing noise when we put a disc in every now and again when it has been playing a while. Now it makes the rotating/ buzzing noise after i have had the computer on for an hour or so. The noise comes from underneath the computer on the right hand side closest to the hinge.
it seems to get louder and faster.. anyone know how to fix this.. it is kinda worrying!!
