General discussion

rotating text 180 degrees

RE Laser Jet 1200 workaround

8-19

OS Vista Home Premium
HP DV 6000T
HP Laser Jet 1200 PCL
Word 2003

I have already tried MS Words suggestions to do this without success

Is there any way of rotating text 180 degrees to allow the following procedure?:
I need to print to that area of an envelope that when received is under the flap. I need to insert the media with the long edge of the envelope (bottom) against the sensor wire. Otherwise, I jam the printer with lose flaps at the start of the paper feed.

I could accomplish this if there was some way I could print from the bottom to the top of an envelope.

Another alternative I?ve tried is to print using media with the flap bent toward the front of the envelope inserted bottom edge first but thus far this tends to also result in paperjams.

Thanks,

Ron

I could understand 90 degrees.

But where is it written the the flap must be at the top of the envelope?

I had a printer like that and mailed stuff out "upside down" without issue.

I need to print to the area under the flap

My problem is that I need to print to that area that will be covered by the flap--which is rectangular. What I'm printing is an annual dues invoice/return envelope for a fraternal organization.

Thanks for your input.

Since Word has no built-in function to invert text,

Since Word has no built-in function to invert text, to rotate it by 180 degrees or produce mirror imaged text you may have to use something else.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=word+rotate+text+180 finds workarounds which I have no idea which would be acceptable to you. However if it was a GRAPHIC IMAGE you can flip it any which way.

Let me re-state what I did last time.

You wrote the entire doc is text. What I did was take the section I needed rotated and turned it into a graphic picture. Then I could flip it to the orientation I wanted.

NO ONE WAS THE WISER that I had worked around Word's limitation. The next kid that had to tackle that lost a week till they asked me "How'd you do that?"

Thanks to all who replied. The work around supplied by R Proffitt solved the problem.
