Question

Root again or not?

I don't know if I can root again my j5. Yesterday I installed a custom recovery (twrp) in j5 2015 (v 6.0.1 marshmallow) and root my device successfully. Then by mistake I untick oem unlock and restart my phone. Then I got a message saying " Custom binary locked by frp or fap don't remember exactly. I installed Samsung kies 3, enter download mode and flash new firmware successfully. Today I was about to install custom recovery again and when I went into download mode, I noticed something different. Warranty void 0x1 (2) I google it but in every forum, every post it showing that have in front know but in my phone its just saying "warranty void 0x1 (2)" anyway my question is if I can install again custom recovery and root without bricking my device because of this message. Please answer soon.

When I use tools like this I follow instructions by the root maker or go to XDA forums. I have never found Android support for this here.

What?

so I cant root again right??? or I didn't understand???

If you could you would.

In reply to: What?

Since you asked if you can, that meant you tried and failed. I know some don't write or use English but "can" denotes ability. If you ask if you can, then you can't do this.

To fix this I suggest you check how to do this on the site that supplied your root and tools along with XDA forums to move from can't to can do.

root

I didn't tried to root again. I can root again but I'm afraid that if I try to install custom recovery and root my phone while I'm seeing this message I'm going to brick my device. So this is my query if I'm going to brick my phone. If not I will try.

Then we are back to can't.

In reply to: root

Even a bricked phone is a common discussion over on XDA and other forums that support installing custom rooted roms.

As no one can know the future, no one should tell you it will or will not.

But a bricked phone is usually unbricked using guides at XDA and other forums.

You mean that this message its not a hindrance to root my device? This message its only for warranty?? thanks

I'd pose that to the root maker

In reply to: conclusion

And on XDA. Anyone that flashes a new rom usually understands the warranty is gone.

Are you asking "Will me warranty be valid after I root my phone?" If so, my answer is your warranty is invalidated.

Really

I asked if this message its hindrance to root my phone. Of course and I know that you are saying good bye to your phone warranty if you root it or flash new firmware. Just open your mind and focus on what I'm saying. I also know that this message it's warranty void message which means that you don't have warranty anymore in your phone. If this message isn't hindrance to root my phone the conversation it's over. Bye

you will always take a chance with bricking phones whenever you try to root it and install custom stuff. since you already messed up the odds are against you. there is no way to tell you if you are going to brick your phone now. we don't know what phone you have, if you have the proper utility for that specific phone, or even your ability to follow instructions.

one thing for sure, you must have tripped knox and voided any warranty you may have had.

you may be able to get more help at the xda forums. they are the experts when it comes to rooting phones.

Exactly. I didn't write it but will here.

In reply to: who really know

When I want to root or install firmware (some call that rooting or ROMs) I go to XDA Forums.

Be it luck or good living, what's there has always worked for me.
