Roku 4

May 15, 2016 5:00AM PDT

About 4 weeks ago I decided to buy a Roku4 despite some of the negatives I heard about it i.e. heating issues & noisy cooling fan.
The setup took a little longer than I thought & notice video was not as clear as it should be so chatted with Roku support they recommend I get a 4k compatible HDMI cable so I decided to swap it out with another HDMI & it improved video quality. Next the video playback was choppy Chatted with Roku again their recommendation unplug it for 1 minute what hassle , the next issue I addressed was the heat build up Sad last night I spent over 1 hr with Roku Chat support we tried everything & had already turn on cooling fan and the Roku4 cool down some but at request of Roku chat support they said take unit in for replacement. Sad So rather than repeating this I decided to go back to Roku 3 and wait until I get a UHDTV and Roku fixes the overheating issues. According to David Kasmair for most of us Roku4 is over kill unless you have a 4K TV which I do not & have older Plasma set and video play back and picture is very good with OTA & Roku3
