Or they are just unhelpful. Of course port forward has risks but this is why we try ports rather than putting the server on the internet wholesale. Since the ports are and this gets technical, only connect to a specific program in the server the program in the server shall be resistant to attacks. If not what good is this server?
I want to set up some security cameras, that save their images to the web.
This is because the place is being periodically pillaged (not living there, farm) and I know the guys (???) who are doing this will simply find the cameras, and spray/destroy them. So I need to send the stuff elsewhere.
I am having trouble setting that up. Point 1.
Then I am warned that PF will leave a port open to attack by ???
SO. How? And at what risk?
