Ripped off by Clickbank

Jul 13, 2007 11:20PM PDT

It seams like CNET.COM doesn't care that I got ripped off using your site.

What happened is that I went to CNET to buy NERO 7 PREMIUM.
I paid $34.95 to CLICKBANK for 3 years of Nero what they gave was a serial # for a trial version and had me download Ares Ultra
Which I think is a file sharing program I don't want it.Then when I disputed the charge with my credit card company they informed me that CLICKBANK had also charge me again $41.95.
Receipt #TX50X7MQB / Receipt 08NDM0PB.
I think Nero and I are being ripped off.

Where did you find the link?

Nero 7 premium is an old edition from 2005 and is not found through searches of Cnet.com, Cnet Shopper, or Cnet's download.com. Nero 7 Ultra Edition Enhanced is found, but recommended for purchase through online retailers such as Amazon, Dell, CompUSA, Buy.com, etc. by Cnet Reviews/Shopper. None seem to route through Clickbank, at least not on the surface. Also, none of the writeups from Cnet mention 3 years of anything, at least that I can find. In fact, once you purchase Nero you can use that edition for life...there is no time limit. Thus, I'm a bit confused as to where you found the link to make the purchase. (Which Cnet page and site?) You could contact Cnet Customer Support and report your experience, but if you would, please let us know how you came to the purchase page you did.

You might want to...

Check your system for malware, because this sounds suspiciously like some kind of redirector system.

For the most part, it sounds like you've been conned, but much as I love to blame Cnet for its ineptitude at almost everything it does... I can't find any fault on their part here. It sounds like you didn't do sufficient legwork on your own, and are now trying to blame others for what amounts to being your own fault.
