RIP Fess Parker

King of the wild frontier!

Actor Fess Parker, best known for his 1950s role as Davy Crockett, has died. He was 85. According to reports, Parker passed away on Thursday at his home in Santa Ynez, California, due to natural causes.

The funny thing is, we didn't have a TV, so I didn't actually see the show until years later. But Davey Crockett was everywhere in the culture, The song was on the radio and there were tons of books, toys and such.
