I'm interested in getting a Karma and using it with my Mac so I did some research regarding it's Mac compatibility. It seems that you need to get some free software. The web page with the list of builds of RMML is: https://rmml.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=437&expandFolder=437&folderID=0 A direct link to download the latest build on the previous link: https://rmml.dev.java.net/files/documents/1105/7250/rmmlite.jar It is a "Lite" Java version of the Rio Music Manager (RMML) that works on most any platform. I have OS10.39 and the software seemed to start fine on my computer (although it wouldn't let me use it- as there was no Karma hooked up to my network). I'm not sure, but you may have to connect the Karma to the ethernet port of a Mac to get it to function. It may work with USB on a mac with the RMMLite, although it would certainly take a long time to get music onto it if it's not USB 2.0. I hope this info isn't too late and that it helps.
Has anyone had experience using Rio Karma for Mac? I purchased a Rio Karma for my daughter to use on her iBook. She has system OSX 10.1.4. We have had no luck getting it to work with it. One problem we've identified is that it seems to require an IP Address or router network setup. Is this necessary? We don't have a router, just a single computer and a modem dial-up.
Anyone have experience or suggestions?
