Ringtone cures hay fever?????

Too weird for words. I checked the release date when I saw this news article. I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be serious. But consider the source: It's from the same company that brought us BowLingual to help translate dog barks.

Japanese cellphone ringtone 'cures hayfever'
According to the developer, Dr Matsumi Suzuki, who says on his website that he studies acoustics and analyses voiceprints, the ring tone unleashes waves that will shake out pollen stuck in the user's nose.
