Right Click Vista Desktop (& Desktop Icons) Stopped Working

Jan 19, 2010 9:45AM PST

Right click works elsewhere, but exactly no longer on desktop and desktop icons. Still works on Gadgets / Sidebar and Toolbar etc. Tried uninstalling some unnecessary mouser drivers, have done a wack of scans, defrags, etc etc.

Help please.

When you right click the file does anything happen? Can you open the programs by left clicking the icons?

Thank you for your help.

In answer, right does nothing but highlight the icon; left click opens the program.

Obviously, I cannot access folders options among other things.

Again, right click does work within browsers (IE and Firefox) and at the bottom toolbar, Startup, and gadgets sidebar, and within MS Word etc ...

Just not on the darn desktop. ?
