I will answer my own question in case anyone else has the same problem. The repair guy came out and had to call Samsung. They gave him some special code to type into the TV so that a special menu came up when he turned it back on. He had to go and enable the PC input to allow it to work because Sony (for some reason) didn't follow code with their 15 pin outputs on their laptops and have the ground on a different pin than what is standard, thus the TV wouldn't recognize it. They will not give out the code to fix this though, so you will have to call Tech support at Samsung to help.
I tried hooking up my Sony VGN-FS840W Laptop to my Samsung FP-T5084 to use the Plasma TV as a monitor for my computer and the TV won't recognize my computer! I can't even get the PC source on my TV, it is just grey and I can't click on it or scroll to it. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it? I alread loaded all necessary things on my laptop to get it to recognize the TV. I am having a service technition come to my house in a week to check it out. Thanks
