General discussion

RF Antenna Booster using antenna cable etc.

Feb 26, 2005 11:17PM PST

Hi,

I recently moved to the US and got myself a GSM Sharp
TM150 mobile from T-mobile. The phone works fine in my
office, freeway, streets but not in my apartment. I
get a weak signal near the window and can manage a
a brief conversation to get a static-filled message
across.

I am wondering if some antenna booster will help. I am
not trying to get the passive circuitry board placed
between the battery and cover. I want to try one of
the bigger antennas and connect a cable to my mobile.

Most of such antenna boosters are being sold for cars,
trucks, RVs, boats and are meant to be stuck on
glass or metal. Will anything work fine in a home? If
yes, any suggestions on the brand/model and where to
buy?

Your advice and pointers will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Gaurav

I use a WirelessExtenders.com amplifier, but you don't have to plug your phone in. It works for PCS like T-mobile. Love it.
