Resolved Question

Reverting to an older version of an application?

Jan 31, 2014 10:59AM PST

Hi, I'm new to Ipad , while I feel very comfortable around PCs I'm still struggling to understand all the aspects of Ipad .

I recently updated an application ( Goodreader) only to find out that in the latest update they removed a functionality that was very important to me , really a reason why I bought it in the fist place.

Is it possible to revert back to the older version of Ipad application? I understand that I can backup files stored on my Ipad to PC using File sharing, I also have "automatic full back of Ipad to this computer " turned on, but since the backup happens every time my Ipad is connected via itunes - how many backups and what exactly i can restore? ( Obviously there is the difference between Windows "System restore" and this, but what exactly)

I'm reluctant to mess with my iPad as I'm stil trying to grasps the ins and outs of Ipad,

Even if there is nothing I can do now, Is there anything I can do going forward to make sure that if I do not like an application update I can revert to the older version?

Ipad 32 GB with retina display, IOS 7.0.4

Thank you

Since this is Goodreader I see support links at their web site. Ask them how to get the version that worked for you.

Typical finger pointing.

If the author/company won't support old versions then vote with your fingers. I.E. uninstall, leave reviews and get something else.
