Retrieving Data from computer that quit working

Dec 9, 2006 12:58PM PST

I have a computer that quit-the technician told me it needs a new motherboard, so I've decided to get a laptop. I needed to retrieve my files from the old machine, so he recommended that I get a Vantec 3 external hard drive enclosure. I did so and successfully loaded the hard drive into it. When I hook it up to my other PC, I get both F: and G: drives. The G: drive shows that it has about 1/2 the disk full of data, but all I get is a program labeled "system restore" that won't open. I also get a message that it is protected by "PC Angel" and won't allow access. Where do I go with this? I'm very unfamiliar with the terms they're throwing around and I don't want to erase the information on that drive. I'd appreciate any information I can get. Thanks

You have to contact PC Angel.

Found with google.com they have a proprietary system that you'll have to ask them how to get in.

-> Given mahines and hard disk fail where is your backup?
