Resurrecting data from mobile phones..

Hi,
I'm planning to exchnge my Nokia6610 mobile phone for another phone but have apprehensions whether I can trust the dealer to COMPLETELY FORMAT my Nokia before he resells it to some customer.I've recently read some write-ups that nowadays, there are inexpensive software available on the internet which facilitate/enable Resurrecting data from mobile phones.If this be the case,what precautions can u suggest??
